Registration time is here! The NEW Online Registration process is ready. Notices have been e-mailed to all participating facilities, and interested middle schools and high schools throughout the Front Range. A follow-up coach meeting will be scheduled during the league season for school administrators and for current and prospective coaches.
Membership fees to the middle school and high school leagues DO NOT include separate host facility practice fees. These fees must be collected in addition to the league player/coach membership fees and paid directly to the host facility before the start of league play.
Starting Your Middle School or High School Inline Hockey Team
Benefits are GREAT...the legacy will go on forever.
Playing for one's own school sports team is among the most rewarding activities a student will enjoy while attending middle school or high school. The CHSIHL is often asked "how can we start our own school inline hockey team to represent our school? We've assembled some Quick Tips on how to get started.
First ensure that your middle school or high school is willing to assist you by allowing you to distribute "flyers" and/or displaying "posters" throughout the school and to the student body. Often a designated area of the school is permitted for specific student postings.
Remember, the League does not endorse or suggest that the school except either financial, or injury liability repsonsibility for creating any inline hockey team within their existing sports programs. The League is merely "inviting the students of the school to participate in its league, and would like its cooperation in helping parents and students with the process".
Ask to speak to the school Principal or Activities Director. He/she may connect you with the Athletic Director, whom is more familiar with helping you begin a athletic "club" inline hockey team. Club status is not a requirement for league competition. However, it does help to get the program started and possibly gain some limited support from the school.
School administrators will often make a public announcement to the student body announcing tryouts and game schedules for your inline hockey team program.
You'll need a responsible adult willing to act as your Coach and/or Team Administrator. A parent, or school teacher to act as a sponsor, or teacher's assistant can be helpful in providing some of their time to volunteer for these positions
Coach must collect all player registrations, completed rosters and fees and submit by mail to, CHSIHL, P.O. Box 462084 Aurora, CO 80046, Attn: Team Processing. Make check payable to CHSIHL.
NOTE: Checks returned for insufficient funds will be charged a $25 administrative fee to their account. Unpaid players will not be elegible to compete in the League.

The following information must now be submitted to the League prior to league team confirmation and approval before League entry is awarded.
This will be a required process for success. All team programs will be required to establish a Team Booster Club and assign a Head Coach, Assistant Coach, and Team Administrative staff. This process may be established by any person that initiates the formation of the team program. However, not exclusive to the original parties that established or previously established the team club program.

What You'll Need To Know
Read Carefully and Thoroughly
- League fees for the middle school season are $165 per player and $175 per player for the high school season (maximum roster of 15 players - 13 skaters, plus 2 goalies) this fee does not includes your AUU membership..
NOTE: Players must purchase their AAU membership prior to registering online. All League members must register online.
- Coaches, Team Administrators and Players must have a valid AAU membership number prior to registering for League competition.
The Season League Structure will consist of a 10 game(middle school) season plus All Star Games, Academic All Star Game, Player Showcase Games, Division Playoffs and Championships Series at selected host facilities. Championship Series will begin with enlistment of the top 8 teams of each of the League divisions for high school and top 4 teams in each division for middle school league.
The season will include statewide inter-conference competion throughout all participating facilities. Check the upcoming League schedule carefully for times and locations.
- League and playoff structure will remain the same for each host facility.
- Team spots will be limited, so get your team registered quickly.
- Registration ends early September for middle school and late November for high school leagues. Failure to register by this time will exclude your team form competition. NO EXCEPTIONS, unless approved by the CHSIHL Board of Directors.
- Rosters will be closed after the (3nd) third week into the regular season. Rosters will be locked and no additions to your rosters can made after the third week of the regular season.
- Each school registration must have a Team Organization (Parent Group), Coach, and Team Administrator registered with the League. Lone coaches will not be accepted to coach in the League.
- All assistant coaches MUST be AAU/USA Roller Sports registered. No team or non-team personnel will be permitted on the bench without AAU/USA Roller Sports membership. Any team or team organization member having contasct with any or all players must be AAU registered members.
- All Team Rosters with fees attached, must be accounted for by the League no later than September 8, 2007, for middle school, and November 30, 2007, for high school teams to become eligible for League competition.
- Prepare your teams for the SIT (Scholastic State Invitational Tournament). Weekend of December 17, 2007
- All teams must wear matching jersey - same style, color, and manufacturer. Numbers must be present on backs of all jerseys. Home and Away jerseys are strongly recommened.
Mandatory Equipment Requirements:
IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
No individual player can be rostered to play more than the allowed scheduled season games (10 for middle school, and 14 for high school) during the regular league season. Player(s) can only play one game at a time as a call-up player. They can not play both their scheduled game and their call-up game in the same weekend of scheduled games. See the Call-up Player Rule in the League Rules section.
Any Silver or Bronze call-up player selected to play on the Gold team during the regular season must not play more than (5) five regular season Gold division league games to remain eligible for the Silver/Bronze playoffs and championships. It is the team coach's responsibility to manage the amount of games any individual player is rostered to play. Any violation of this rule will result in forfeiture of game(s), suspension of player and/or coach.
No Gold player is permitted to play on any Silver or Bronze team. Gold players are eligible for Gold division competition ONLY.
No initially rostered Gold player may play down to any Silver or Bronze regular season, playoff or championship scheduled game. This includes goalies.
Any player wishing to participate on a school team of which they are not enrolled must submit a request for participation within the "Cooperative Program" to the League Board of Directors prior to league start. A ruling will be made for the player's eligibility based on hardship of the student's enrolled school to form a team, i.e, student population (lack of interest), or home schooling.
A "Lack of Interest" is not considered until all attempts to make the student population of the requested school aware of the League's school inline hockey program. Helpful information and tips on how to form a high school level team for your school is available at www.chsiha.org. All attempts must be exhausted before any consideration for a "lack of Interest" ruling is made. The CMSIHL/CHSIHA is available to assist you in any way possible to form your junior high school team. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
The behavior of a team's coaching staff is vital to the overall perception of the school represented in our league. In addition, inappropriate behavior by coaches reflects directly on the League, and can become detrimental to the league's growth and success. The responsibility and accountability of a middle school or high school coach is imperative. Coaches that are guilty of inappropriate behavior at scheduled games, fail to appear at scheduled games that cause forfeits, and fail to appear at team practices without notice risk disciplinary action from the League, up to and including suspension and/or revocation of league membership.
